About Me

Hello! My name is Josh Griffiths, a longtime writer and video producer. I've written for websites like TheGamer, ScreenRant, Dualshockers, Unwinnable, and created videos for Cliqist and Triple Iris.

I've walked away from the world of gaming after ten years to explore a more varied and exciting world of nonsense. That's the short version, anyway.

The Long Version

I got my start writing short stories in high school. Nobody read them, not even me. Back then, it was just to take up time during that boring "school" stuff. After graduating, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and took a gap year to figure it out. I flamed out at just about everything I tried, and before I knew it, the year was over. Still not knowing what to do, I signed up for a technical college and enrolled in random classes, hoping to find my passion.

I took a writing class and for the first time, I felt like I knew what I wanted to do. I signed up for as many writing classes as I could, started writing new short stories, and even "volunteered" at gaming and sports websites, hoping to build up a portfolio.

My fiction writing didn’t go anywhere, but I quickly got my first paid gig at a little gaming website called Cliqist in 2015. Within a year I had risen the ranks to Executive Editor. I also took over the video team, despite my lack of experience. I didn't realize it at the time, but this sealed my fate for the next decade.

I focused more and more on video as the years went by, as my writing career languished. But by the time I left Cliqist and started my own YouTube channel in 2019, I hadn't written an article in nearly a year, and I hadn't written fiction in several years.

It all came to a head in the middle of 2025. Triple Iris was struggling to find viewership, I was struggling to find the time or desire to make new videos, and my day job was terrible. I realized I didn't want to make videos anymore, and after a few months of soul-searching, I rediscovered my love of writing. Now I'm back to writing blogs here, short stories that I'm actively shopping to various outlets, and my first novel.
