About Me

Hello! My name is Josh Griffiths, and I’m a writer and former video producer. I've written for websites including TheGamer, ScreenRant, Dualshockers, and Unwinnable, and created videos for GamingBolt, Cliqist, and Triple Iris. You know, all the places you’ve probably never heard of!

I’ve walked away from video, and I don’t write for websites anymore, though I still write fiction every day. That’s the short version, anyway.

The Long Version

I started writing short stories back in high school. Nobody read them, not even me. I only wrote because all that “school” stuff bored me to tears. After somehow graduating, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, so I took a gap year to figure it out. I flamed out at just about everything I tried, and before I knew it, the year was over. Still not knowing what to do, I signed up for a technical college and enrolled in random classes, hoping to find my passion.

There, I took a writing class and for the first time. Before I knew it, I realized what I wanted to do. I signed up for as many writing and literature classes as I could, started writing short stories again, and even "volunteered" at gaming and sports websites, hoping to build a portfolio and get my foot in the door. Or at least, a door.

My fiction writing didn’t go anywhere, but I got my first paid gig after only a couple of years at a little gaming website called Cliqist in 2015. Within a year I went from a lowly “contributing writer” to Editor, and then to Executive Editor. I also took over the video team, despite having no experience in video. I didn't realize it then, but this sealed my fate for the next decade.

For the rest of the 2010s, I increasingly focused on video, my writing career tossed aside and left to languish. I took a few gigs here and there, sprinkled a few dashes of ad copy about, and submitted freelance pitches to a few places. Video became my focus, though. By the time I left Cliqist and started my own YouTube channel, Triple Iris, in 2019, I hadn't written an article in nearly a year, and I hadn't written fiction in several years.

It all came to a head in the middle of 2025. Triple Iris was struggling to find viewership, I had a terrible day job, and between the two I had no time to write. The passion faded, and it took me far too long to realize that I didn’t want to make videos anymore. After some soul-searching, I realized I never wanted to make videos, not really; it was a rut I fell into and I convinced myself I liked it. I began writing fiction again to take my mind off my troubles, and that’s when I had to kick myself. “Why did you ever stop writing fiction?” a voice in the back of my head cried.

I’m writing fiction again, actively shopping short stories to various outlets. I’m even working on my first novel, a sci-fi epic about stuff. And things! I didn’t forget about my days writing for websites, either. While I still prefer writing fiction, I still wanted an outlet to air my thoughts and feelings for strangers on the internet to read. So I started this blog, and found an amazing community in doing so.
