Moderately-Sized Changes Coming to the Blog
Excuse the copious layers of rust that coat this blog. I haven’t written in two weeks and my already lackluster writing skills aren’t at their sharpest. It shouldn’t have taken me five minutes to write these three sentences, but here we are.
It’s a new year, and change is roaming the streets looking for unsuspecting victims. One of those poor sods is this very blog. A lumbering bastard toting a rusty meat hook nicked my blog’s leg as it tried to flee. Luckily this blog has had its tetanus shots, though there will forever be a scar.
The most notable change is that I’m switching from posting every day to every other day. Trying to juggle a daily blog with my job, writing a book and short stories, and making videos proved to be too much. I stopped making videos after my computer died at the end of last year, and I don’t plan on doing it again. Yet I was still chewing more than I had bitten, which was weird. Many of the blogs I wrote weren’t good, and I felt my fiction writing wasn't as good as it could have been, either. Something else has to give.
I thought about doing one blog a week, but I like writing too much to make that drastic a cut, so we’ll see how this goes for now. My hope is that blogs will not only be better written and edited, but I’ll have more interesting topics and they’ll be better researched. Take this blog for example, which… oh… uh…
Secondly, there’s no easy way to say this, but adlkhjwfgrfuiqefopasdflkjhjasm. I also wanted to say that I’m going to put a link to my Ko-Fi page at the bottom of my posts from now on. I’ve had a couple of people donate to me, saying they stumbled on the link almost by accident and wanted to support me, which was flabbergasting. It is nice to be paid for your work, even though I never started this blog with a paycheck in mind.
It’s only going to be a text link, nothing flashy or big. Something tasteful, like that nude painting in your uncle’s house that he insists is art. And of course the hilariously badly worded “written by human” banner will forever be part of this site. It’ll look a little something like this:
Please, consider supporting me on Ko-Fi
